RAID Drive Upgrade
Drive obsolescence causing a demand for a replacement for OEM hard drives that expands backup capabilities and provides a more robust solution capable of preventing software crash due to a single faulty drive.
Problem
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a data storage virtualization technology that combines multiple physical disk drive components into one or more logical units for the purposes of data redundancy and performance improvement.
Solution
One Semiconductor uses RAID 1 paradigm which is a fault-tolerance configuration known as "disk mirroring." With RAID 1, data is copied seamlessly and simultaneously, from one disk to another, creating a replica, or mirror. If one disk gets fried, the other can keep working.
Method
The kit will provide the RAID chassis, two RAID drives and power connectors. The RAID drives will be configured to be 4 GB drives that are recognizable by the Applied Materials software. We do recommend an optional 12 V DC stabilizer and/or new SCSI interface cables at an additional cost.
